Development Diaries - Kovdozero Map

As already known, on July 15 a major update will be released – the first phase of the seasonal pass for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Along with the update, a new map in a new region will be introduced. The Kovdozero map is located on the Kola Peninsula.

The first phase of the seasonal pass will add only two maps to the game. Kovdozero is the first map. The map is snowy but significantly different from the snowy expanses of Alaska. The map has its own soundtrack, and at night you can witness the northern lights. The map features a large number of abandoned buildings, ice-covered lakes, and much more.

New features have been added to the map that are not found anywhere else. For example, you need to carefully monitor the ice’s durability, or your truck might remain there forever as an ice block. The total size is 4 square kilometers. A completely new level of realism and hardcore.

During missions, players will mainly have to search for old Soviet structures: various military bases and more. Players will receive a good reward for completing missions. But it won’t be easy, as the weather conditions in this location are very harsh. Additionally, there are rare watchtowers, only one garage, and other buildings. In one of the missions, you can find the so-called Prototype Exploration Unit – a new research module that will unlock new gameplay possibilities. And most importantly – you can invite even those friends who don’t have the seasonal pass to this map!
