Hello, friends!
Today we have a small update on the site – an attempt to bring order to the materials.
Many have probably noticed that there are mods that update quite frequently, and until today, a separate independent page was created on the site for each new version, with its own comments, ratings, etc. Agree, this was not very correct, since in fact it’s the same material. As a result, the number of materials on the site reached almost 5000, of which 30-40% are just updates. We did not solve the problem of frequent mod updates, but we did solve the problem of material duplication (due to updates).
The idea is that each material will have a single page, and all updates will accumulate on that page.

Attention! To everyone who adds materials!
You can upload a new material as before, but you no longer need to upload updates for the material separately!
Now on each material’s page (if you are logged in) there is an "Add update" button, which will take you to a shortened submission form (fewer fields than when adding a new material). This will make adding updates easier!
Please note that when adding an update, the "Description" field should contain the description of the update itself (i.e., the list of changes), not the description of the material (since the material description was added with the original material). If you think the material description needs to be changed after the update, write about it in the update description (specifying WHAT needs to be changed), and the moderator will take your opinion into account when reviewing the update.
Also note that each update will have its own screenshots (up to 5), and the main screenshots for the material will be considered those of the latest update. Remember that the "face" of the material (on the main page and similar) is the first screenshot – make it the most high-quality and informative.

We now have a big job ahead to merge already added materials and updates into a single page. However, we believe this will help bring order to the materials on the site.

P.S.: Due to the developer’s clumsiness major changes in the material structure, the way likes (dislikes) are stored has also changed, so all ratings have been reset again.

The idea has been in the air for a long time, and finally, we managed to implement it.

You can write a review for the material and give it a rating (from 1 to 5). We understand that your opinion and rating may change with each update of the material, so we have specifically given you the ability to change the review text and its rating at any time.
Please note that your review should reflect your opinion in detail, so the minimum length of the review has been set to 50 characters.

Please note that the average rating for the material (as shown in the first screenshot) will be assigned when a particular material has at least 10 reviews; otherwise, the rating may be subjective.

For now, reviews are operating in test mode. Let's try it out and write. Please report any errors you find in the comments.

Now registered users can send private messages to each other!
This is especially relevant if you want to contact the author of the material (provided the material was uploaded by the author themselves).

On the left is the list of conversations with a user search bar, on the right – the selected conversation.
Additionally, you can send a message to a user from their page (for example, https://stmods.ru/user/Khan/) and from the material page (the mail icon next to the uploader’s nickname).

By the way, if a message is written in green, it means the interlocutor has not read it yet. This applies both to the last message in the conversation list and to messages inside the conversation itself.

However, there is a downside: there is no auto-refresh of messages like in chats. Currently, messages work like on many websites and forums, which means to receive new messages, you need to refresh the page or press the corresponding button above the conversation.

For now, private messages are working in test mode. Try it out, send messages. Please report any bugs in the comments.

Hello, friends!

We are pleased to introduce a new feature on the site – now, to write a comment on an article, it is no longer necessary to use a VK account. A site account is enough!

At the moment, the main functionality has been implemented: writing comments with the ability to upload an image, editing and deleting your own comments, writing replies (one level of replies, like on VK), rating comments (upvotes and downvotes).
Please note, comments are now arranged in chronological order (newest at the bottom) (it’s unclear why VK comments are the opposite).

Comments are currently operating in test mode and are located below the VK comments. After testing and debugging, our own comments will be placed above the VK comments, and later, if VK comments fall out of use, they will be removed.

We allow anything to be written under this news (within reasonable limits) and encourage testing the comments’ robustness by any means :)
For all other pages, the commenting rules remain in effect! Comments that violate the rules will be deleted as before.
