American Truck Simulator 1823

American Truck Simulator and ETS 2 continue to actively develop. New mods and maps are constantly being released, captivating with their quality and size. However, it’s important not to forget the older maps that remain hugely popular among players and are known to almost every ATS fan. The previous article about the best maps for Euro Truck Simulator 2 was well received, which is why today we present a selection of maps for American Truck Simulator. Some maps may not work on the latest game versions. The goal of this article is to showcase and recall excellent maps that serve as examples for many modders. 
Keep in mind that this selection reflects the author’s subjective opinion. If you don’t like the maps in our selection, you can share your own picks in the comments. We’d be interested to discuss everything with you. Additionally, the selection may include both standalone maps and add-ons for other maps. Let’s get started!

Reforma Map
The first map in our selection is not just a simple mod adding a city, but a pack consisting of 5 different maps from various authors. We’ll list some of the most important changes, and you can find the full list of maps on the download page.

First of all, the pack includes an atmospheric map of Mexico. The map features various enhanced models as well as well-known Mexican companies and banks: OtXo, Coppel, Bodega Aurerra, Pemex, and more. The second map included in this pack is an add-on for the first map, adding new Mexican cities and reworking some of the existing ones. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the state of Zacatecas, with the advantage of well-crafted and more realistic roads. 
Reforma Map for American Truck Simulator also rebuilds the young states of California and Arizona, reworking and improving several cities and highways.
The fourth map in this pack is another add-on for the first map, adding a whole new state with its own cities: San Luis Potosi. It features 26 detailed cities, new scenic roads, and more.
Overall, the pack is extremely cool and brings a lot of variety and improvements to your game!

ProMods Canada
Many love projects from the ProMods team because they truly put great effort into creating very high-quality mods. ProMods Canada is a quality project adding a number of Canadian cities.

You will be able to drive through new locations, complete jobs in new Canadian cities, or simply travel while enjoying beautiful views and detailed environments. There are quite a few cities, including Coquitlam, Kelowna, Merritt, Osoyoos, Vancouver, and other incredibly beautiful cities with their own landmarks, features, and quirks. 

ATMX Map Addon
A rather interesting map for ATS is the ATMX Map Addon, which adds a new fictional location, a fictional state with its own cities, roads, landmarks, and other notable places. 

Usually, modders try to create existing cities and locations rather than fictional ones, but such projects are also quite interesting. Notably, this add-on does not conflict with other popular maps, allowing you to simply expand your game world without worrying about conflicts with your favorite maps.
The mod itself includes the standard ATMX map (base version), bus stops from ATMX, and the ATMX Mountain Roads add-on. Additionally, ATMX and Viva Mexico have a ferry connection. 

Australia Outback Map
A small addition to the default game – a map of Australia for American Truck Simulator. The project isn’t very large but is quite well developed, allowing you to visit Australia, enjoy the landscapes and wildlife of the area, and explore the location’s landmarks.

You can encounter kangaroos, see beautiful natural landscapes, go off-road, and do your own thing. It’s a perfect mod if you want to take a break from city traffic and simply enjoy nature. 

MHA Pro Map
Are you familiar with the MHA Pro map? Yes, unlike the previous map, this is indeed a large project that requires all ATS DLCs to work. It improves the default map by adding many interesting features. But let’s go step by step.

First of all, the mod reworks and enriches the standard map. But that’s not all. After installation, you will find many new cities, numerous new and improved roads. You will encounter various interchanges and, importantly, new companies that will add variety to your game.
Don’t forget about the settlements that also appear after installing MHA Pro. Overall, there are many improvements: 64 cities, 63 interesting companies, and much more. Unfortunately, the last update of the map was for version 1.39.  

Mountain Roads Map
Do you like hilly areas but feel that ATS has too few of them and they aren’t well developed? In that case, we present to you the Mountain Roads map. The name already hints at where you’ll be. Yes, these are mountainous areas where you’ll find huge cliffs, mountains, and the like.

These are new roads appearing between Hornbrook and Jackpot. However, the mod wouldn’t be in our selection just because of a few new roads. Besides all the above, the map features 6 new cities, beautiful locations, new cargo terminals, and of course, new companies. 

Montana Expansion
Would you like to visit the state of Montana in American Truck Simulator, but the original game doesn’t offer that option? No problem, modders have thought of everything. After installing this mod for ATS, a whole separate state will appear in your game for you to explore. Like any other region, it has its own landmarks, beautiful locations, highways, roads, junctions, and much more!

The state of Montana is truly a very beautiful place. Here you will find new cities, settlements, and a large number of plains and farms. It’s impossible to convey all the beauty and quality of detail – you need to see it for yourself. There are separate companies, so you will have plenty of work transporting various goods – you definitely won’t be idle.
This is a very popular expansion with a large number of downloads and many enthusiastic reviews. If you haven’t played it yet – we recommend it!

Mexssimap
Mexssimap is another add-on (more precisely, an expansion) for the quite popular map Viva Mexico. It is also part of the first pack in our selection – Reforma Map, but if you want to download it separately, you have that option.

There’s a lot to say about Mexssimap. We already mentioned this map briefly above, so in short: a whole new state with a huge number of various cities with their own companies, roads, landscapes, and landmarks. If you want to become a driver in a completely new state and visit nearly 30 new cities – this is your chance! 

Viva Mexico and Mexico Extremo
Since these maps are part of Reforma Map, we won’t cover them separately because we already discussed many features at the beginning. This is a standalone map of Mexico with cool companies, lots of jobs, its own cities, villages, and more. 

Viva Mexico adds the map of Mexico itself, while Mexico Extremo is a separate add-on reworking the state of Durango with new settlements and cities. Naturally, there’s work there too, so you can not only drive around and enjoy the views but also build your profitable business!

Project West Map
The next mod in our selection is Project West. Essentially, this is not a standalone map for American Truck Simulator but an improvement of the existing map in the original game. There are no new cities or settlements – the mod rebuilds and significantly improves the roads to make driving around California much more enjoyable.

The main focus is on California’s roads. Many things have been reworked, new roads have been added for you to drive on and deliver cargo. However, in real life, trucks cannot drive through these cities, but it would be silly to impose such restrictions in the game and mod, so you can safely ignore that and make deliveries using these perfect roads.

Hawaii Map
This map invites you to visit the Hawaiian Islands and go about your business there – in a place many call “paradise,” and not without reason, as it’s an ideal spot for rest and living. 

After installation, new cities, settlements, and other locations of this paradise will become available to you. What to do and how to spend your time is up to you. Another notable fact is the ability to use Hawaii Map with other popular maps, allowing you to perfectly complement ATS at your discretion. 

CanaDream
The penultimate map in our selection is the well-known and beloved CanaDream map, which has simply won the hearts of players and, at the time of writing, has over 40,000 downloads just on our site. 

If you’ve long wanted to visit Canada but the game simply didn’t allow it – this is your chance. The mod adds this state to your game. There’s no need to say much more – it’s a very beautiful and pleasant state with its own cities, traffic, companies, and a large number of jobs.
If you want to add variety to your game and are tired of the standard states and cities – this is the perfect choice. If you haven’t played it yet – give it a try!

Coast To Coast
And the last map in our selection is Coast To Coast, without which some maps, including CanaDream, won’t work. 
A huge map where you’ll find everything your heart desires. Mostly, you’ll encounter desert areas. However, this doesn’t change the fact that you’ll have access to high-speed highways, perfectly detailed roads, and simply a lot of enjoyment!

Basically, if you use Coast To Coast, many other maps simply aren’t necessary. The only (and biggest) downside is the mod’s requirements. To run it, you’ll need almost all official DLCs, which not everyone has.
It contains improved versions of various states: Florida, Colorado, Texas, etc. The map itself includes some other mods that perfectly complement the gameplay (for example, US Road Signs). Most importantly, the developer continues to improve the project, and the map is now available for the latest game versions, so if you haven’t tested it yet – you’re welcome.
