Peterbilt 379X is a limited edition of the legendary Peterbilt 379.
The Peterbilt 379X was produced from 2004 to 2006, with an estimated total of only 2000 units made, targeting owner-operators. The Special Edition 379X was available only in solid colors with chrome accents, including chrome front fenders and a silver dashboard. This 379X model was offered exclusively with a Caterpillar engine and an 18-speed transmission. The standard Special Edition 379X rolled off dealer lots with a 550 horsepower powertrain, but owners could request increased power as a special option. The 379X model was available only with a 70-inch Ultra Unibilt Sleeper cab and was not offered in a tri-axle configuration with a lift axle.
