The GAZon NEXT truck with a cab module from the GAZelle-Next and original bodywork replaced the fourth-generation GAZ-3309 family but is still being produced alongside it. The GAZ C41R11 and C41R31 trucks with payload capacities of 5.0 tons and 4.7 tons are designed for operation on all types of paved roads. For urban use, CITY subfamily modifications are provided with smaller (19.5") wheels and a reduced loading height of 1.1 m. Since late 2017, production has been underway for the GAZ C41RB3 "GAZon NEXT 10" (4x2) truck with an increased payload capacity of 6.2 tons and a gross weight of 10 tons, featuring rear air suspension. Production of the new three-ton off-road truck "GAZon NEXT 4x4" (formerly "Sadko NEXT") with single rear dual tires and a centralized tire pressure regulation system was postponed to early 2019, and a year later, the heaviest version "GAZon NEXT 12" with a gross weight of 11.9 tons and an estimated chassis payload of about 7 tons will appear. These versions, including those with a shortened 3.8 m wheelbase, will fully replace the morally and physically outdated medium-duty ZIL trucks in the country's freight fleet.

The next versions will include improvements + the addition of a BDF trailer.
