Make sure your system meets our requirements – at least Windows 7 SP1 and a x64 system. If you do not meet these requirements, consider upgrading your system.
Mods Studio 2 relies on .Net Core 3 (preview). Although we try to package and include all necessary files in the MS2 download, sometimes we may miss something.
To fix this, try downloading and installing the latest Microsoft .NET Core 3.1 Runtime – Windows x64.
If the above does not help, try downloading and installing the full .Net Core 3.1 SDK (Software Development Kit).
If your error log contains a message that "DirectXTex failed for some reason," try installing the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
Make sure you have sufficient privileges on your system to run the application. This may require moving the application to a different folder/location on your hard drive. Also, try running the application as an administrator.
Check if your antivirus software is blocking the application (or one of its components).
Check if there are error/crash logs in the application output folder and whether they contain useful information about the problem.
