Niva (also known as VAZ-2121 and LADA 4x4) is a Soviet and Russian off-road vehicle – a small-class SUV with a unibody and permanent all-wheel drive. It has been produced serially since April 5, 1977, to the present day (until 2006 it was sold under the VAZ-2121 "Niva" brand, currently sold under the LADA 4x4 brand).
