VAZ-2101 "Zhiguli" is a Soviet rear-wheel-drive small-class passenger car with a sedan body type. It was the first model produced at the Volga Automobile Plant. The so-called "classic" family of VAZ cars was created based on the VAZ-2101, which remained in production until September 17, 2012. For the production of this model, the Volga Automobile Plant was awarded the International "Golden Mercury" prize in May 1972. In 2000, the VAZ-2101 was named the best domestic car of the 20th century according to an all-Russian survey conducted by the magazine "Za Rulem." Over the entire production period (from 1970 to 1988), AvtoVAZ produced 4.85 million VAZ-2101 cars of all sedan body modifications.

A visually functional caliper! The caliper does not move with the brake disc, it turns with the wheel, reacts to bumps.
— New headlight setting with more accurate illumination. Again, not just a "setting," but an innovation — inner and outer light cones.
— Quick switching of automatic (robotized) transmission operation. Previously, this affected the tuning and manual transmission, making it difficult to use the manual gearbox. Now the tuning does not affect the manual transmission.
— Car (engine) shaking at high RPMs. An innovation adding realism.
— Implemented the Ackermann principle in steering for better road stability.
— Physics and brakes rebuilt.
