Mitsubishi Galant is a mid-size car produced by the automotive company Mitsubishi Motors from 1969 to 2012. The name comes from the French word fr. Galant, which means "gallant." Nine different generations of this model have been created, with total sales currently exceeding five million cars. The model started as a compact sedan but gradually turned into a mid-size car. Initially, production was based in Japan, but since 1994, cars assembled at the plant formerly owned by Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) in Illinois have been sold on the American market.
