Description

Hyundai Elantra is a mid-size car by European classification, produced by Hyundai Motor Company. It was previously sold in some markets under the names Lantra and Avante due to trademark claims related to the Elantra name from rights holders of similar trade names, such as the Lotus Elan and Kia Elan car models, or the "Elante" trim available on some Mitsubishi cars for the Australian market; in 2001, the new generation was introduced as "Elantra" in all markets except the domestic South Korean and Malaysian markets, due to the discontinuation of models using similar-sounding names.
