Description

Hyundai Elantra is a mid-size car by European classification, produced by Hyundai Motor Company. Previously, it was sold in some markets under the names Lantra and Avante due to trademark claims related to the Elantra name by holders of similar trade names, such as the Lotus Elan and Kia Elan car models, or the "Elante" trim available on some Mitsubishi vehicles for the Australian market; in 2001, the new generation was introduced as "Elantra" in all markets except the domestic South Korean and Malaysian ones, due to the discontinuation of models using similar-sounding names.
