More Console Slots for FS 22

Great news if you’re playing Farming Simulator 22 not on PC, but on consoles. This is a significant event for fans of the game who prefer PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series S, and Series X consoles, as now you will be able to keep even more vehicles on your farm and install even more mods, since the number of slots has increased by a full 300%!

What are slots?

Perhaps it’s worth first explaining what slots are. As you know, consoles cannot be upgraded. Yes, you buy a console once with certain specifications and that’s it – you have to wait until a more powerful model is released. Due to these technical limitations, so-called “slots” are used, which determine how many game items the console can process simultaneously. Each console has its own maximum number of slots, and the higher this number, the more objects can be present on the map and processed at the same time.

But why does this only concern consoles? The thing is, this also applies to PCs, but personal computers can be upgraded at any time by purchasing new components, and most of the workload is handled by RAM, so most often it is console owners who face slot limitations.

Improvements in Farming Simulator 22

In Farming Simulator 22, everything will be much better developed than in the previous game – FS19. Moreover, the improvements will affect both new-generation consoles and older ones – PS4 and Xbox One. The developers not only increased the maximum number of slots but also made it so that objects, vehicles, and other items in the game now use far fewer slots. This greatly expands the game’s capabilities.

Even if you buy the same tool twice – it will only consume one slot. 

Total number of slots

Let’s start with an overview of the total number of slots on older generation consoles. On PS4 and Xbox One, in the case of Farming Simulator 19, the maximum number of slots was 1299. However, with Farming Simulator 22, things are much better – the total number of slots on older generation consoles will be twice as high – 2749 slots. But that’s only for PS4 and Xbox One.

On new generation consoles, the situation is much better. For PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Series S, the total number of slots in FS22 is 300% higher. On these consoles, the maximum number of slots is 5155. Simply an incredible figure. 

Slots usage is 70% more efficient

As mentioned above, slots are now used more intelligently and efficiently. Let’s consider this with the example of a common vehicle – the Claas Axion 900 TT. The maximum efficiency of slot usage has been improved to 70%. If previously the vehicle consumed as many as 40 slots, it will now use only 12. The difference is noticeable.

But not all vehicles can occupy fewer slots with 70% efficiency, and each item, each vehicle has its own figure. For example, the Fendt Vario uses 40% fewer slots, not 70%, but still – there is a difference.
