Already tired of previous versions of Farming Simulator and want something new, right? Great news, the developers have announced that Farming Simulator 22 will be released this fall on platforms such as PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia! A teaser trailer for the new game has also been published.
There is no full list of features yet, but the developers have clarified that we can expect new maps, agricultural machinery, new crops, as well as new and familiar brands. Seasonal support will be built into the game from the start, and other features will be announced soon!
The game will include general farming, forestry, and animal husbandry. According to GIANTS Software, the game will feature more than 400 pieces of equipment (vehicles, various tools) from over 100 well-known (and not so well-known) brands. New categories of machinery will be available, allowing farming in Farming Simulator 22 to reach a new level. Players will have complete freedom and choice. 
Improved engine, enhanced performance, and a new level of realism
The new game is being developed on the updated GIANTS Engine 9, which greatly improves the overall quality of the project. Immediately noticeable is the improved AI (artificial intelligence). Additionally, the sound component of the project has been significantly enhanced. 
The new engine significantly boosts performance. It is already known that DirectX 12 support will be available on Windows operating systems. Multithreaded optimization, texture streaming, and other features that improve overall performance should be highlighted. All of this has become possible thanks to the new engine. 
What about mods for Farming Simulator 22? Of course, the new engine places even greater emphasis on mods, allowing the creation of truly captivating and high-quality projects. This also applies to last-generation consoles, as the developers promise more slots and expanded capabilities.
The developers will soon provide more information about the upcoming game. Then we will find out what the new and highly anticipated game has to offer!

What will happen with production in Farming Simulator 22? This is quite an interesting question. In the game, you don’t necessarily have to sell wheat immediately. You can process wheat into flour at the mill, and from that flour, make bread, for example. And there are many such possibilities.
New buildings will be added to the game. Some of them will initially be located on the maps. If they are not there – no one stops you from building new buildings yourself. 
New buildings will have various functions. For example, the same mill where you can process wheat, or a new building – a bakery. You will be able to build a bakery and supply it with the necessary resources. In the end, the bakery will bring you profit. And, of course, to supply that same bakery with resources, you will need to build and manage other factories (sugar, dairy, and so on). 
Yes, managing all this is quite complex, but who said you have to do it all alone? You can decide whether to deliver resources to the required points yourself, or let the factories handle it. However, if you choose the second option – you’ll have to spend some money, but there’s no way to manage the business without it. 
But that’s not all. Let’s take the bakery as an example again. You can decide whether the bakery will sell its products immediately, or if you will deliver them to supermarkets and stores yourself to sell at a different, more profitable price. 

New maps will be available in Farming Simulator 22, as well as some improved maps like Erlengrat – a map featured in the Alpine Farming Expansion add-on. 
Farming in the Midwest
When creating the Elmcreek map, the developers were inspired by the US Midwest. In this location, you will have access to vast fields that you can arrange however you like. Large open spaces, extensive fields, various shapes and sizes of farms – all of this is available on Elmcreek. The map will also feature rivers, underground passages, a waterfall, a highway, and more!
Additionally, there are huge grain silos (bunkers), a standard gas station, and other buildings that will be present, and of course – a baseball stadium – a landmark of this area.
The maps are not yet fully finalized, so the developers have provided very little information. But according to them, much more information will be available soon. We’re looking forward to it!

Great news for fans of the Farming Simulator series. The developers have announced the release date for FS22 and opened pre-orders. The game will be released on November 22. In addition to the pre-order, you can also purchase a collector's edition, which will be available in a limited quantity. Farming Simulator 22 will offer many more features than FS19. This also applies to crops. Initially, the game will include 3 new types of crops: olives, sorghum, and grapes. Yes, you will be able to grow and sell them, but we have already mentioned that FS22 features production chains, and many crops can be further processed. For example, flour can be turned into bread, and so on. New crops are affected by this as well. Let’s look at each one separately.
Grape Business
Growing grapes is a real pleasure, because despite being a profitable business, if everything is set up correctly, your farm will turn into a beautiful paradise consisting of large rows of grapevines. A grape farm will become the perfect place to relax. Naturally, to achieve such great results, you need to take care of everything, and special agricultural machinery will help you with this.
If you decide to play with the seasonal growth setting – you will definitely need the New Holland Braud 9070L. What is seasonal growth? It’s simple: certain crops produce good fruit in specific seasons, and you will need to monitor these seasons, plant on time, harvest on time, and so on – become a true farmer, experiencing all the challenges and features of this work.
Olive Business
If you’re not particularly keen on the idea of building a huge farm with grapevines, you can plant olive trees and start a truly profitable olive business. Moreover, an olive tree farm looks just as good as a grape farm, and no one forbids you from combining these two crops. 
Additionally, the fact that these crops share the same season—from March to June—makes things much easier. The only difference is the harvest time, since olives need to be picked much earlier than grapes—somewhere around September. Undoubtedly, for harvesting olives, the New Holland Braud 9090X will come in handy.
Nutritious Sorghum
The third crop is sorghum. Grow sorghum because this product is consumed in large quantities and is very nutritious. Growing this crop requires a location with a fairly dry climate, which is where the challenges arise.
Production Chains with New Crops
As mentioned at the beginning of the article, production chains (such as making bread from flour) are an important part of FS22, and the new crops will also be part of this. 
Here are a few examples. From grapes, you can create dried grapes or delicious sweet juice. Olives are widely used to produce olive oil, and sorghum yields high-quality fine flour. And these are far from all the possibilities of the production chains. 

In Farming Simulator 22, surfaces will be implemented much more beautifully and realistically than before. This was announced by the game developers. A lot of work has been done on the graphics component. During the development of GIANTS Engine 9, the Parallax Occlusion system was also introduced. If this option is enabled in the settings, the surface will become much more beautiful, realistic, and dynamic. 
The most obvious effect that will appear from enabling this setting is deeper and more detailed tire tracks from your vehicles. Surface detail has been significantly improved. The system itself works in a rather interesting way. First, textures become flat (unnoticeable to the player, of course), reducing the geometric complexity of the 3D model. Then, the visual component of the surface is placed into a "height map," after which the player sees the necessary textures on the screen. In general, the models gain their own "height," depth. When interacting, the surface is reconstructed, and we get those same deep tire tracks. 
But why exactly the Parallax Occlusion system? Let's start with the fact that it looks incredibly cool and realistic; playing the game is much more enjoyable when such visual effects are present. The second reason is minimal impact on performance. The thing is, Parallax Occlusion selects its depth and level of detail for each graphics device so that on very weak devices the game does not lag (naturally, if the computer is very old and weak – it’s better to disable this setting). Overall, there should be no FPS drops.
Work on this system is still ongoing, but almost all surfaces will be subject to changes. Meanwhile, we suggest you take a look at the screenshots.
