At the end of October, the SnowRunner developers published a month’s worth of news with new screenshots and important information, including details about new vehicles.
The screenshots show Michigan. This is one of three regions that will be available to players. The developers report that the regions are several times larger than the standard map sizes from MudRunner. These regions themselves consist of several maps. Below are screenshots of these very locations.
The maps in SnowRunner are connected, and to move to a new map within a region, you will first need to find and reach a special passage. The maps are connected by tunnels, and by reaching these tunnels, you can move to another map. However, the passages are not open from the start, and you need to achieve certain goals to gain access to them.
The main goal is to give players more opportunities to explore the map. The developers have put a lot of effort into map design to make exploration an enjoyable experience. Their work includes: beautiful locations, music on each map, unique features, and backstory, which is no less important. They cited Michigan as an example, where amidst dangerous areas like forests and swamps, you can find small towns.
The music will also pleasantly surprise players, as there will be regionally themed musical accompaniments, performances on guitar and other instruments. Quite interesting!
These were the news for the entire month of October. The developers are working hard to deliver the highest quality content. SnowRunner is scheduled for release in early 2020, which is very soon!
