From a Conversation with the SpinTires Developer

Hello, friends!
We have some information for you about the future of the SpinTires world.
We managed to talk with Pavel Zagrebelny and ask him a few questions:

- Pavel, hello! There are many rumors online about the further development plans of the game (up to creating a second version of the game). We would like to hear the official version from you (it would be ideal if with details and screenshots) to share with our subscribers.
Pavel: Hi! Unfortunately, I can’t share any concrete news about the game yet. An announcement should be coming soon! The game is not abandoned! The process is ongoing! =)
- Well, alright. We never get tired of waiting!) Can you at least say whether it will be a separate game or an update to the current one? Who will be the publisher (if it’s new)?
Pavel: It will definitely be a new game, not a Steam update. There are just too many changes. Almost every detail has changed. For Steam copy owners, we’ll try to offer a discount. I can’t say who the publisher will be yet – I don’t know myself for sure.
- That’s understandable, so much time has passed. Many are already set on it being a new game and have long stopped believing the current one will be updated. It’s a pity you can’t share details. Maybe you can say when the announcement is planned? When is the release? Maybe a beta test?
Pavel: There won’t be a beta test, the announcement should be within a few weeks. The release will be within a couple of months =)
- An optimistic forecast! Let’s hope it all goes that way :) Will the new version be on Steam?
Pavel: Yes, on Steam
- Great! Since you can’t talk about the details of the new version, maybe you can share your opinion on the current state of the game? I mean what players and modders have achieved. For example, tracked vehicles, (pseudo) amphibious vehicles, etc. Did you expect it to get this far?
Pavel: I didn’t expect it. Well, it’s cool, a lot of interesting stuff has been done =) It’s just a pity that the game and engine themselves are a bit wonky. But in the future, I’ll try to make the new version more mod-friendly!
- You’d think it couldn’t get more mod-friendly, considering how much modders have already done :) As far as I remember, there was no official statement about the goals of releasing the game on the Mail.ru platform. Tell us why it was done and whether it brought the expected results? Will the new version be on a different engine?
Pavel: Still on the same one for now. The Mail.ru version didn’t bring the expected results =) ... The new one is not a sequel, more like a remake with improvements.
