The developers have released patch 1.38 for American Truck Simulator. Soon, the new Idaho DLC will also be released. In patch 1.38, the developers addressed various aspects of the game.

The city of Las Vegas has been significantly changed. The city underwent reconstruction. Intersections (interstate) have been updated. Textures have been reworked, vegetation added, beautiful landscapes, and much more. And this is not the full list of changes for this city.

But besides cities, parking lots/fuel stations were also reworked. Fuel stations in American Truck Simulator now have lanes with the proper width so trucks can refuel. So-called "navigation lines" have been implemented, which greatly help truck drivers avoid damage when entering and exiting. Also, a new fuel station has been added, located on the US-111 road.

The shadow system has been significantly improved. Now, so-called SSAO is used. This mode dynamically creates shadows in areas where there were none before. This option can be enabled in the game settings.

Since this update heavily affected the game's graphics, weaker computers may experience severe performance issues. After the new update, even small vehicles can cause performance drops, so it is recommended to select the correct scaling option in the settings and reduce the impact of SSAO. SSAO – Screen Space Ambient Occlusion. You can choose the SSAO quality there. The lower it is, the better the performance. You can also completely disable this effect there.
Additionally, a new feature has been added to the game that allows you to paint your purchased truck using various codes. That is, enter a code – get color schemes. HSV, RGB, and HEX codes are supported. The update is called RGB Color Picker. And now, the list of changes.

Users will have access to interregional transportation, with cargo varying greatly: from bales of hay to farming equipment.

It has become known that on November 12, 2020, a new update for American Truck Simulator will be released, where players will be able to enjoy exploring a completely new area – a new state, which will come with the Colorado update. This is the seventh state in the game that players will be able to explore. The new state will open new roads and routes for gamers, diversifying the gameplay.
The update will convey the overall essence of Colorado, allowing players to enjoy the landscapes of this area and the driving experience. The map is quite large, but not so much that it takes forever to accomplish anything there.
Colorado is a unique and beautiful state, featuring incredibly beautiful natural landscapes. There you can find both emerald-green forests and mountainous areas. The region is so beautiful that you just want to drive around for hours and enjoy the natural scenery. 

SCS Software announced the most popular and highly anticipated Freightliner Cascadia truck for American Truck Simulator on the roads of North America. SCS Software recently announced a new expansion for American Truck Simulator that will add the state of Wyoming to the game. It is worth noting that the DLC is in the early stages of development.
Wyoming is famous for its natural beauty, wildlife, and small population (one of the smallest in the USA). The state flag features a bison.
The release date is currently unknown, but it will definitely happen in 2021. Follow the official DLC page on Steam.

The developers announced that the next game update will include new viewpoints in New Mexico and Oregon. Previously, they were added to Washington and Utah with the release of the last patch.
For those who don’t know what a "viewpoint" is: it’s a specific spot on the map where the player can activate an in-game cutscene featuring a short video showcasing nearby landmarks and the surrounding area. You can find the viewpoint on the map. The cutscene can be played an unlimited number of times.

There are rumors that on 11.02.21 there will be a presentation of the updated Kenworth T680 NextGen truck for American Truck Simulator.
This truck set a high standard of quality but is planning to raise it once again to become even stronger compared to other vehicles.
