Great news for fans of American Truck Simulator. Finally, you will be able to play this game with your friends in separate sessions of up to 8 people. The developers have launched an open beta test. Anyone who has purchased American Truck Simulator on Steam can participate. To start, do the following:
- Go to your Steam game library and find ATS;
- Right-click and select the "Properties" section;
- You will see the Betas tab, go there;

It is important to understand that if you suddenly decide to revert to the old version of the game, there may be problems with saving data, so it is recommended to back up player profiles in advance.
Now a bit about the update. This is still just a beta version, and much will be refined and reworked. Currently, up to eight players can participate in a session, and they can take the same contracts and drive together to the destination. For realism, a radio chat has been added, which is activated by pressing the X key. In addition, there is a ready-made tab with preset responses for quick replies (Q key), as well as a text chat for players who do not like to speak into the microphone (Y key).
The new mode – Convoy – allows you to do all of the above. Weather and time change correctly. In addition, there is AI traffic, as in the single-player version, and much more. If one of the players is dissatisfied with the result, you can roll back, after which the state of the truck, cargo, and wallet will be restored. 

Finally, after a long time and hard work, a major update 1.41 has been released for American Truck Simulator. The developers specially thanked those who participated in the beta test. Thanks to such players, many bugs and issues were discovered and fixed. Many were waiting for this update because of multiplayer. Let’s look at all the changes and new features.
“Convoy” Mode - Multiplayer 
A new mode called “Convoy” has been added to the game, where players can play multiplayer. You can create your own sessions (open and closed), invite players, and play together. Naturally, you won’t achieve incredible results immediately, and updates specifically for this mode will be released, but you can already play Convoy now.
There is a synchronized stream of vehicles, as well as weather and time. And, of course, multiple drivers can perform the same job simultaneously. The maximum number of players in one session is 8. The developers promise to increase this limit in the future, but for now, this restriction is in place to avoid breaking the game.
The one who creates the session becomes the administrator and gains access to a number of tools, including the ability to kick unwanted players, and so on. If you don’t have friends playing ATS, you can find open sessions from strangers and play with them. All the features of the mode:

If you’re worried about your progress – don’t be. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore your progress to the moment you joined the session.
California Overhaul
The developers announced the overhaul and improvement of California a long time ago. In this update, you can see the first steps, as many things have been reworked in this area: road markings, agricultural stations, and more.
The most important part of the California update is the new border control points in agriculture. If you are transporting goods, you will have to undergo inspection, and only after the inspection will you be allowed to proceed. The purpose of this inspection is to find invasive infestations and verify the correctness of documents. If you need to stop, you will be notified. You will stop, then the inspection will begin, and if everything is fine, you will be allowed to continue.
Equally important – the map-making tools have been significantly improved, so the developers now have more opportunities to enhance their maps. All these tools will be used in upcoming city and state updates. 
Photo Mode
Many ATS players love taking high-quality photos in the game, so the photo mode has been improved. Two very important features have been added: time and weather. As you can guess, you can now change the time and lighting yourself, as well as the weather. Naturally, this is only in photo mode, not in the main game.

First of all, it’s worth mentioning the welcome center in the southeastern part of the state. Yes, there’s a lot of interesting stuff there, but don’t forget about other rest spots where you can relax yourself and let your vehicle cool down a bit. Typically, these spots are located near natural surroundings, so these rest areas are an ideal option if you just want to stop briefly and recharge. 

It’s time to share new screenshots and information about the capital of Wyoming – Cheyenne. Previously, the developers promised to provide more information, and they have kept their promise. Cheyenne is also known as the “magical city of the plains.” It is a modern city with all the amenities, its own landmarks, and incredibly beautiful places.
It was founded back in 1867. The city was named after the Cheyenne – Native Americans. The city grew and expanded very quickly, all thanks to the railway system. Today, this city is the most densely populated in Wyoming. 
The first place to visit should be the railway station, which is the main attraction of this city, as it is part of the local history. At one time, this railway network (railway depot) was the largest. Moreover, it is built in a classic style, allowing you to step back in time. And yes, in the game this railway depot is almost fully recreated, so you can easily visit American Lines.
American Lines is far from the only place worth visiting. Almost every inch of this city is living history. It’s simply pleasant to be there. This place enchants you, and you will see for yourself with the release of the “Wyoming” expansion. 

We have all been waiting for this. Many of you wrote in the comments that you were eagerly anticipating this expansion. And now, the release date for the major DLC "Wyoming" for American Truck Simulator is finally known. According to the developers, the expansion will be released on September 7, 2021 – very soon! 
Yes, this is truly exciting news, but we also recommend checking out the video trailer for the new expansion. 
Still not enough good news? Well, on the 7th, before the official release of the expansion, the developers will hold a live stream (around 5:00 PM MSK), where they have invited guests and talented people who participated in the creation of this expansion. There will be certain... surprises during the stream. What exactly is meant is unclear. It is quite possible that the developers will give away several copies of the expansion.

Along with the release of the Wyoming DLC, the developers added a small event called "World of Trucks," which is specifically tied to Wyoming. During this expansion, players can earn unique rewards that will no longer be available after the event ends.
