Recently, the developers announced the third free expansion for MudRunner. The new DLC will allow you to explore the wilderness of a new map, Rocky Hills, behind the wheel of two new 1950s vehicles - the Chevrolet Napco 3100 (1957) and the GMC DW950 (1952-1954).

These old gray veterans can’t wait to show you what they’re made of. Who ever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? As a scout vehicle, the Chevy Napco 3100 offers two brand-new addons: a log-loaded trailer (only on the Rocky Hills map) and a scout trailer.

And if you’re looking for versatility, check out the GMC DW950. The king of attachments, the GMC can be equipped with a ton of different implements to suit your needs.

Keep in mind that the Old-Timers expansion does not require the American Wilds expansion to work, but if you have American Wilds, don’t forget to try the addons from that expansion on the new Old-Timers vehicles!

The Rocky Hills map continues the theme of the American wilderness, and this time you’ll find yourself in an area of rocks and pine forests, where pickups will come in very handy.

We’d also like to touch a bit on MudRunner 2. A week ago, the developers showcased the game to journalists at the annual “What’s Next?” event, and it was very gratifying to see the reaction to our photos from the game presentations. (Old-Timers). More information from journalists should be coming in the days and weeks ahead, so stay tuned!

The release of MudRunner 2 is scheduled for 2019, not only for PC and consoles but also for iOS and Android.

There is news that Old-Timers will be released on April 30, and the developers have presented one of the vehicles for full breakdown – the GMC DW950! The new expansion will include 1 map and 2 vehicles.

Brief description:
If you need versatility and multifunctionality from a vehicle, then the GMC DW950 is definitely your choice. This veteran truck feels confident on the road, and you can also use a huge variety of different trailers with it.

In-game characteristics:
600 durability units allow the GMC DW950 to confidently carry on with its tasks even after an accident. And the 330-liter fuel tank is practically an opportunity to work from dawn till dusk without a lunch break.

Pros:
A huge range of additional modules, trailers, and a sturdy body make the GMC DW950 the perfect solution to all problems – as long as there is road surface under its wheels.

Cons:
The GMC DW950 is undoubtedly the king of the road. But when it comes to off-road, it doesn’t have such a good relationship.

Additional modules:

● Semi-trailer tanker: holds up to 3700 liters of fuel.
● Trailer tanker: holds up to 1600 liters of fuel.
● “Garage on wheels”: gives 2 garage points.
● Garage semi-trailer: gives 4 garage points.

The Old-Timers expansion launches on April 30 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch. In connection with this, we are pleased to introduce one of the new vehicles – the Chevrolet Napco 3100! Remember, this expansion includes a new map and two new vehicles.

Description:
The Chevrolet Napco 3100 is essentially a small pickup truck that can do it all. Take care of it, and it will serve you for life. And probably for your children’s lives, too. Don’t forget to try it out on the rocky slopes of the new Rocky Hills map!

Gameplay characteristics:
The Chevy Napco 3100 is a tank among reconnaissance vehicles. 350 durability points is no small feat! And the 80-liter fuel tank should be enough for any tasks you need to tackle.

Pros:
Increased ground clearance and a sturdy frame give the “Chevy” excellent maneuverability on rocky terrain. Plus, you’ll definitely find it useful to carry both garage points and repair modules at the same time (though that’s not an exclusive feature).

Cons:
We honestly don’t know. Most likely, it won’t survive an encounter with a dragon.

Additional modules:
- Bumper – cosmetic modification.
- “Garage on Wheels” – holds up to 80 liters of fuel and provides 1 garage point.
- Light panel – cosmetic modification.
- Repair module – holds up to 80 liters of fuel and provides 150 repair points.
- Recon vehicle trailer – provides 80 repair points and 1 garage point.
- Spare wheel – provides 60 repair points.

Recently, new information about MudRunner 2 has appeared online (in connection with the start of the game test), featuring a fairly large list of new game features.

Features:

• Larger maps – maps in MudRunner 2 will be 4 times bigger!

• New types of terrain – besides American and Russian regions, MudRunner 2 will take you to Alaska (snow and more).

• More licensed vehicles – vehicles are one of the main elements in MudRunner 2, so naturally, we will be expanding our vehicle fleet! More various standard cars and trucks.

• Improved graphics – MudRunner 2 will have significantly enhanced visual environments, including more detailed vegetation, mud, water, lighting, etc.

• Cabin view – each cabin will now have its own unique detailing.

• Upgrades and additional modules for vehicles – MudRunner 2 will introduce new upgrade options and additional modules. They will noticeably affect the role of the vehicle you choose. Each kit will influence the vehicle’s characteristics, off-road capability, and other aspects.

• Vehicle customization – the ability to customize any vehicle will be added. For example: changing the color.

• New types of cargo – more various types of cargo. Plus, the weight of the transported cargo will now affect the vehicle’s characteristics and physics.

• Improved interface – a new updated, more user-friendly interface.

• Enhanced tutorial – MudRunner 2 will be easier to start for players unfamiliar with the universe. A small but still welcome bonus.

We are pleased to announce that the developers have released a new patch for Spintires: MudRunner today, featuring a new addon for the GMC DW950 and various bug fixes.

The changelog is as follows:

- Fixed a sound bug
- GMC DW950 now has its own unique tank addon
- 2 new parameters for the vehicle, presented via XML for modders, both in the "Engine" section:
1) EngineResponsiveness (default 0.04), controls how quickly the vehicle accelerates in response to user input.
2) ClutchDelay (default 0.1), engine idle time after shifting gears in automatic transmission mode.
- Random addons will no longer appear in "Polygon" mode.
- "RELOAD" in "Polygon" mode now updates textures just like "UPDATE".
- Minor player camera fixes

The developers also announced that they will soon delight us with news about MudRunner 2. We look forward to it!

Today the first "development blog" was published, in which each review will feature one truck that will be in the final version of the game SnowRunner at release.

Did you know that MudRunner 2 changed its name to SnowRunner? Yes, it happened, and moreover, the game is set to receive a number of quite significant updates (especially a new engine), which, according to the developers, justifies changing the game’s name. Below we have listed some of the innovations. SnowRunner will be released next year on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

A few details:
- The game is being developed on a new engine (possibly a reworked Swarm Engine from the game World War Z).
- There will be 3 new types of surfaces: snow (which will be very different from mud), ice, and icy roads.
- There will be many licensed vehicles (we will publish reviews every week, translations from official sources).
- There will be a detailed dashboard and a detailed truck/car interior.
- Anti-slip chains will appear for better traction in snow and mud.
- A snorkel will appear for crossing deep lakes.
- Realistic ice and snow physics (a lot of attention has been paid to this aspect of the game) + vehicle behavior on snow/ice.
- Long-awaited quests (missions) and many new types of tasks will appear.
- Maps will be connected by portals (tunnels between mountains).
- It will be possible to build and repair bridges from transported materials.
- Updated multiplayer.
- System requirements will remain roughly the same.
- Mud has been heavily reworked and now there will no longer be chunks of mud on tires. Also, the game physics have been significantly reworked and now take into account many more parameters than before.
- Increased draw distance.
- There will be both winter and autumn maps located in Russia and the USA.
- Among the American maps will be Alaska (winter map) and most likely Minnesota (autumn map). Nothing is known yet about the Russian maps.
- Map sizes will be increased by 4 times.

Now to the truck review!

The first on our list is the Freightliner M916A1!

In SnowRunner, we want to implement fully recreated vehicle cabins, with working speedometers, tachometers, and engine temperature simulation. We want you to be fully immersed in the process while playing the simulator.

Also, this month the developers worked on the game profile screen. There you will be able to track all your statistics: money earned, completed missions, map exploration progress, unlocked vehicles, upgrades for them, etc. The more you play, the higher your rating. And the driver’s badge will reflect this.

The developers have presented the new heavy-duty truck Western Star 6900 TwinSteer, which will be added to SnowRunner, continuing the series of new trucks. We look forward to the next updates from the developers!
