Performance Fixes Public Beta Test

The development team at Focus Home Interactive is launching a public beta test for Spintires: MudRunner. The test version fixes performance issues that appeared after the release of the "The Valley" DLC. This beta test will run until Monday.

By using the beta version of the game, you will be able to play multiplayer with players who are using both the beta and non-beta versions.

To get the beta version of the game, you need to opt into it on Steam:
1. Right-click on Spintires: MudRunner in your Steam game library
2. Click “Properties” and go to the “BETAS” tab
3. Select public_beta from the dropdown menu.

After that, you will become a participant in the public beta test. This should fix any performance issues you have noticed since the release of the "The Valley" DLC.

If you continue to experience problems in this beta version, please provide the game logs (which can be found here: C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\SpinTires MudRunner and upload them to WeTransfer.com – they are generated by holding SHIFT while launching the game) and your list of mods.

If the beta version turns out to be worse for you than the current version, please revert to the base game and send the developers the game logs and mod list as described above.

Please report in the comments on https://forums.focus-home.com/topic/5112/public-be..">this post whether the beta version fixes these issues; your feedback is highly valued by the developers!

February Update News

Some time has passed since the developers released the "Valley" DLC on February 13, and they are happy to see so many players enjoying this map and the three new vehicles.

The developers noticed that some players create their own maps using screenshots of fully explored and completed maps or, in some cases, drawings. They assume that some of us would like to make maps based on minimap images, so they have packaged all the map images in high resolution so we can print them out and create our own maps from them. (Perhaps these maps await us in future updates and DLC – translator’s note).

The images can be found here: https://we.tl/IYVl6j93B6

The developers assure that they are actively working on the game and improving it, as they say, on all fronts, and mentioned several specific points.
Currently, an update is actively being developed to enable support for maps in the Steam Workshop and other useful features.

In addition, MudRunner USA (working title) is currently under active development. (The developers do not specify whether this is an update, DLC, or a new game – translator’s note). The developers note that the majority of the Spintires: MudRunner community is in the USA, so they are trying to support them with familiar content. They are also exploring licensing official vehicles for this. It is noted that MudRunner USA will be installed specifically in the USA (this may mean a localization of the game with local equipment and environment – translator’s note). The release is expected within this year.

In addition to MudRunner USA, the developers continue to explore options for adding mods to console versions of the game. They note that they highly value modifications and thank players for noticeably improving the game with their help. The best mods for consoles will most likely be released as DLC.

Finally, work is underway to port the game to Nintendo Switch. There are no details yet, but as soon as they appear, they promise to tell us.

In conclusion – the game creators are working on many different things at the moment, all of which will come later this year! We look forward to more news on each of them throughout the year.

Official Announcement of Euro Truck Simulator 2: Beyond the Baltic Sea Expansion

At the beginning of February, the developers from SCS Software posted screenshots of the upcoming expansion and invited players to guess in which direction the Euro Truck Simulator 2 game world map would be expanded. There were many different options, but most players leaned towards the idea that the next ETS 2 expansion would extend the map towards the Baltic coast—and they were right! The working title of the expansion is “Beyond the Baltic Sea.”

On March 2, the developers officially announced that the next DLC expanding the Euro Truck Simulator 2 map, which they are currently working hard on, will add the Baltic countries to the game.

After the release of the Euro Truck Simulator 2: Beyond the Baltic Sea expansion, players who purchase it will be able to visit the following countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the southern part of Finland, as well as a small part of Russia, where the country’s second-largest city—Saint Petersburg—will be featured.

This region has a very unique architecture, industry, and transport infrastructure, which gives the developers more opportunities when working on it. By purchasing the Euro Truck Simulator 2: Beyond the Baltic Sea expansion and exploring the new areas, you will surely notice its significant difference from everything the developers have released before.

In the coming weeks, the developers promise to share more details about the upcoming expansion.

Comparison of FS17 and FS19

For Farming Simulator 19, the developers made many improvements to the engine (GIANTS Engine), and the result is impressive. Many changes, especially in the so-called post-processing. High Dynamic Range (HDR) rendering allows displaying the full spectrum of colors simultaneously, the addition of Bloom makes light emission more realistic, thanks to SSAO all objects in the game now cast their own shadows, which will look realistic thanks to the new light scattering technique. The sun in the new dynamic sky now serves as a light source, and the clouds, which are now voxel-based 3D objects, reflect light incredibly realistically.

Finally, the game developers also made some improvements to surface textures. Various surfaces now not only look much more realistic but also react differently to light falling on them and reflect light more or less strongly depending on the material.

There were many technical terms here, but we are more interested in seeing with our own eyes how it looks as a result. Therefore, the developers show us the first two screenshots comparing FS17 and FS19.

The screenshots were taken at the same time of day, in the same place. The Estancia Lapacho mod is used, which will be included in FS17 Platinum Edition and FS19.

The developers note that it is still in a very early Alpha phase, so not all FS19 screenshots are final. Some changes will follow in further development.

Favorites on the Website

Hello, friends!

Recently, we launched a new small feature on the site – Favorites (now you can collect all the materials you’re interested in in one place).
If you are logged into your account on the site, you will see a "Add to Favorites" button on the material page and on the author’s page; clicking it will add the material and the author to your favorites, respectively.
You can go to the favorites page by clicking this button again (the label will change to "In Favorites" after the first click) or from the user dropdown menu (in the top right corner of the site).
On the favorites page, you can expand the list of favorite materials and the list of favorite authors.
In addition to the usual sorting options, this section offers sorting by the time the material was added to favorites.
We hope you’ll like this feature.

Also, you can now edit messages in the private messages section within an hour after sending. This is very useful when you’ve already sent a message and noticed a mistake.

We’d be happy to hear your suggestions – what else to add/improve on the site.
P.S.: We are currently working on adding emojis to messages and comments.

Thank you for being with us!

Public Beta Testing of Maps in Steam Workshop

The public beta version of Spintires: MudRunner, which supports Workshop maps, is currently available on Steam.

To get the beta version of the game, you need to subscribe to it on Steam:
1. Right-click on Spintires: MudRunner in your Steam game library
2. Click "Properties" and go to the "BETAS" tab
3. Select public_beta from the dropdown menu.

In the same way, you can access the public beta of the SpinTires: Mudrunner Editor in Steam Tools.

Important information for modders: if you have manually edited game files, the update will overwrite them and you may experience performance and stability issues. Be sure to back up your files before updating.

Attention! The beta version of the game is incompatible with maps for previous versions (including maps for 29.01.18b) and vice versa – maps from the new beta version do not work in the latest stable version (29.01.18b).

For those creating their own maps for the game:
If you encounter an issue with missing starting vehicles on your map, you should open the map in the new version of the editor (the public beta version).
Also, you can upload the map to the Workshop, but only you and your friends will be able to see it. Public access to your maps will be enabled with the full release of Workshop maps – dates to be announced later.

March Update News: Workshop Maps, Future DLC, and MudRunner USA Information

The time has come for the developers to share news about MudRunner.

As we already know, public beta testing of Steam Workshop map support has been launched for PC players. This version also includes an updated editor.

Depending on how successful this testing goes, the developers plan to release an update for the stable PC version of the game. Please make sure you try the test version; your feedback is very valuable!

You can find out how to access the public beta here.

There is more news concerning the long-term development of the game.

The developers are very pleased with how players received the "Valley" DLC! It was the first expansion for Spintires: MudRunner, and it added not only a new map but also three new vehicles.

The developers are very happy that this content resonated with the community, and they are currently working on a similar expansion, which they plan to show us next month or a little later. The update will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. More details will be shared soon.

As we already know, work is underway on MudRunner USA (working title), and the developers are still aiming to release this project this year.

Obviously, MudRunner USA is being developed for the USA and will be set in America, where a huge part of the Spintires community is located, so the developers want to showcase the most popular local vehicles in this version of the game.

The developers continue to explore options for adding mods to the console versions of Spintires: MudRunner and thank modders for their contribution in helping make Spintires: MudRunner a better game, but, as always—there are no concrete plans for implementing mods right now. Most likely, mods for the console versions of Spintires: MudRunner will be implemented as DLC.

Finally, work on the Spintires: MudRunner version for Nintendo Switch is still ongoing. No details yet, but they promise to share more in the future.
