Crossplay Multiplayer: Play Farming Simulator 22 with Your Friends!

Great news for those who prefer to play FS22 with their friends. There will be crossplay between game versions on different platforms! This means you will be able to play with each other regardless of where the game was purchased. Something similar was recently added for SnowRunner, but only between Steam and Epic Games Store.
Information about crossplay in FS22
Let's discuss in more detail and answer some frequently asked questions about crossplay in Farming Simulator 22. First of all, many are interested in which platforms will support crossplay. In fact, there are quite a few platforms: personal computers, Mac, next-generation consoles Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, previous-generation consoles Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Yes, there are many platforms, and you will be able to play with friends even if you have a console and your friend has a PC.
How many players can play simultaneously via crossplay? Actually, this is quite interesting, because if possible – it’s better to be the host on a PC. The thing is, if the server (host) is activated through a PC, the maximum number of players is 16 slots. However, if the host is running on a console – the maximum number of players will be 6. Naturally, if playing on separate dedicated servers, this number may change.
What if you only have a console but the slots are not enough? If you don’t have enough 6 slots to play with friends and none of you have a PC – there is a solution. You can rent a dedicated server through the Nitrado system, and then the 6-player limit will be increased to 16.
Can the crossplay system be disabled? Actually, yes. You can filter out servers that support crossplay. However, is there any point in this? The controls are made quite convenient, so PC players will not have gameplay advantages as many think. But it’s nice that such an option exists.
How will saves work in crossplay? Unfortunately, only the host can save the game. Regular players do not have this option. Their progress is not saved.
How will this work with DLCs and mods? You will need to keep a close eye on this if you want to play with friends. All players must have the same mods and DLCs installed as the host, otherwise there will be no cooperative play. If someone is missing even one mod – they will not be able to join the server. Meanwhile, players on Google Stadia can only play on servers with no mods at all, and console owners can only play on servers where either there are no mods or only those mods that are available on the official ModHub page for consoles.
Slots on consoles. Yes, consoles have strict limitations, so-called slots, which limit the maximum number of vehicles, objects, and so on. The server sets a slot limit (the lowest slot count among players determines the overall server limit). If the server already has more slots than the console supports – it will be impossible to join that server.
Text and voice chat. Another very interesting point. Yes, there will be a general chat, but there are nuances. Only players on personal computers can write in the text chat. However, everyone else will be able to see the text, even if they cannot type a reply. Voice chat, however, is available to all.
Other interesting details
We’ve covered the frequently asked questions, now let’s discuss a few details. It’s worth noting that multiplayer in FS22 will be much more fun than in FS17 or FS19, because there are many more gameplay features (just look at the production chains).
Equally important – the game now has a proper character editor that allows you to create your own character, your unique style, and show your style to other players in multiplayer. That’s about it!

Character Editor in Farming Simulator 22

Recently, we talked about the fact that Farming Simulator 22 will have its own editor for creating unique characters. This feature is mainly designed for multiplayer gameplay, so players can show off their style to each other and have characters that look different from one another. Today, we will tell you more about this feature and provide some interesting screenshots.
Many people are first interested in what can be changed in the character’s appearance. Actually, quite a lot:
Body type;Hairstyle;Presence or absence of a beard, beard style;Mustache, if you don’t like a beard;Various clothing: shirts, tank tops, pants, shoes, headwear, and even glasses!
In general, the developers give you complete freedom in creating your character, and this feature appeared as a bonus for crossplay!
Create your own character!
First of all, you should choose the overall look of your character in the Characters field. Here you can select skin color and body type—in short, the main characteristics of your character. Choose a beard, mustache (or none), and hairstyle.
The most interesting part begins when selecting your character’s clothing. Here you will have a huge selection. You can dress in plain, unremarkable clothes or wear clothing with logos of your favorite brands: Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and so on.
There’s no point in saying much more—just take a look at the screenshots to get an idea of some of the possible options for customizing your character’s appearance and available clothing. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your thoughts about this feature. It will be interesting to read and discuss!

Land Cultivation Farming Simulator 22

There will be quite a few interesting features in Farming Simulator 22. New methods of soil cultivation will be added. By the way, these methods will also change the soil textures. Moreover, thanks to the improved engine, a full parallax system – Parallax Occlusion Mapping – has been added, but we have already talked about that. Let’s take a look at the new soil cultivation methods available in FS22 and what effects they will have.
Mulching Capability
The game will introduce mulching: a surface soil cover that helps with protection as well as some other properties. Naturally, this process will use special agricultural machinery – a mulcher, which will attach to your tractor and lay mulch on the soil surface.
It’s perfect for two new crops – grapes and olives. Additionally, mulching affects the visual aspect, so if you want a perfect vineyard or olive grove, just use this new feature.
For those who enjoy forestry and logging equipment – large mulchers will be available, which can easily process bushes and stumps.

Stone Collection Capability
After certain activities, large or small stones may appear on your fields, spoiling the look of a perfect farm. But there is a solution that will not only improve the visual aspect of the soil but also allow you to earn money from it.
Using a subsoiler, you can extract large stones. With special stone collectors, you can bring your farm to perfect condition, and sell all the collected stones to earn some money, even if it’s a small amount – after all, you can never have too much money.
Besides, you will need to clear the field of stones before sowing anyway, so you will need special equipment one way or another. However, if you don’t want this feature in the game, you can disable it in the settings.

Soil Rolling Capability
And finally, the last feature the developers mentioned is the ability to roll the soil. If you have already collected large stones using the subsoiler and stone collector, what about the small ones? It’s simple – you can use special rollers to press them back into the ground so they don’t get in the way.
Of course, this equipment is not only for pressing stones back into the soil. You will also get improved crop yields.

Soil Textures
Naturally, all the above-mentioned equipment changes the appearance of the soil, and for each of these processes, there are unique soil textures, which you can see in the screenshot below. There are textures of mowed grass, roller tracks, cultivation marks, plow marks, and much more!

Seasonal Cycles, Graphics, and New Crop Modifications

Another batch of good news from the developers of Farming Simulator 22. As we already know, the game is in the final stages of development, with only one month left until release. However, there are other updates related to the game itself. The developers continue to read fan feedback and reactions, and make changes based on them. Thus, even before the game’s release, some aspects have already been improved solely based on player feedback and requests. Let’s go through everything one by one.
Season Length
When the developers first talked about seasonal cycles in FS22, they said that one seasonal cycle would last 12 in-game days. That is, one day equals one month, 12 days equal 12 months, which means one year. This was the original planned system.
However, many players started complaining even before the game’s release that 12 days is too short and that this period should be extended. The developers wanted to give players the option to extend seasons as much as they wanted, so everyone could customize it to their liking. Unfortunately, this idea was not implemented because it could cause major problems with other game mechanics.
It was decided to allow players to increase the length of each month. The maximum value is 28 days. So, you will be able to set things so that one month in the game lasts 28 days, which is quite a lot. This decision will satisfy players’ requests and allow everyone to customize everything to their taste.
Graphics
Many fans of the series complained specifically about the game’s graphics. Many said that compared to FS19, nothing has changed at all. In reality, this is not true; there are changes, and they are indeed visible, but there is another nuance. Work on both gameplay and graphics is still ongoing and will continue.
This means that the graphics now look significantly different from what the developers showed several months ago in the first gameplay videos and early screenshots. Based on player feedback, they have improved and continue to improve various graphical aspects to make the game look presentable.
Among the current changes: foliage detail has been improved, and the SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) effect has been adjusted, creating more natural shadows, which enhances the overall environment. Additionally, the overall color scheme of the game has been tweaked.
The game looks much better now, and work is still ongoing!
Improved Sorghum
Certain changes have also been made for the new crop that will appear in FS22. This crop grows perfectly on the new default FS22 maps. However, there was one issue during gameplay demos—the sorghum harvesting process.
In short, now when harvesting sorghum, only the top of the plant is cut off, not the entire stalk. A minor but quite pleasant improvement in harvesting accuracy.

Animal Husbandry in Farming Simulator 2022

Animal husbandry is an important gameplay aspect of the Farming Simulator series, and FS22 will be no exception. Animals allow you to take a break from constant crop growing, add variety to the game, and some players simply prefer animal husbandry over growing various crops and managing their own productions. Let’s learn more about animal husbandry in FS22 and discuss 10 reasons why you should start raising animals, according to the game developers. But first, we invite you to take a look at the trailer.
Animals in FS22
Animal husbandry is a completely separate field within agriculture, and no matter how easy it may seem, you will have to learn everything if you want to open a profitable business and become a successful farmer. It’s the perfect opportunity to expand your farm.
Of course, animal husbandry requires purchasing specialized equipment, and with the new production chains, this will bring much more profit and excitement than before.
The developers have worked hard to make this process engaging. You won’t be bored in summer or winter. Now, if the weather is cold and the winter harsh, you’ll need to take care not only of your plants in the greenhouses but also diligently care for your animals. Animals require constant care regardless of the season or weather conditions, so you will always have something to do.
10 reasons to start animal husbandry in Farming Simulator 22 according to the developers
Keep in mind this is a playful list of 10 reasons, but there’s some truth to it. So, here are 10 reasons to start animal husbandry:
Animals make your farm more lively and less boring. It’s a completely new experience every farmer should go through. It has its own features, tasks, machinery, and much more, and it’s all quite interesting.Animal husbandry is not only fun but also incredibly profitable. It can bring you a good income in many different ways, and with production chains – even more.Speaking of production chains, that’s another plus of animal husbandry, as these two mechanics fit perfectly together in FS22. If you decide to open your own enterprise and become not just a farmer but also a businessman, it will be twice as interesting and profitable. For example, if your production requires eggs, you can get them right from your own chicken coop.No more need to buy manure for fertilizer. You’ll have it guaranteed!Want to take a break, go for a walk, and explore locations but are tired of vehicles? Just ride your own horses.Winter will definitely not be boring anymore. You finally have a reason to wear your old beekeeper suit! Why not? They are very cute and fluffy, and it’s simply pleasant to be around them.Animals can increase the yield of your crops. Yes, this feature will be available. How exactly it will be implemented is still unclear, but the developers promised to provide more information on this soon.
So, will you be getting into animal husbandry in Farming Simulator 22? Do you like this aspect in general? Let’s see how this system will be implemented in FS22, as the wait is almost over!

Greenhouses in Farming Simulator 2022

The release of Farming Simulator 22 is just around the corner, so the developers are constantly sharing new information and revealing more about the upcoming project to build excitement. Today, we’ll talk about greenhouses that will be available in the game. Greenhouses are an incredibly important part of FS22, especially if you plan to play with seasons and snow enabled, as these settings make the game much more interesting.
If snow is enabled in your gameplay, crops won’t grow during winter, which makes sense. So what should you do in that case? There’s only one solution – build a greenhouse, or even several, and grow your plants there during this difficult period. Let’s take a closer look at how this will all work.
Small, medium, or large?
The first question is – which greenhouse should you build, and what size? You’ll have access to small, medium, and fairly large greenhouses, depending on your farm type. It’s very important to have a greenhouse in winter, as it not only warms the farmer’s soul but also helps avoid bankruptcy and even earn a decent profit. While snow falls outside and temperatures drop further, your crops will quietly grow in modern, well-equipped greenhouses, allowing you to stay afloat.
In the “production” section, you’ll find different greenhouses that vary in appearance and size. If you have a free plot of land, you can buy and place any of these greenhouses and build a farm that works all year round.
Plant lettuce, tomatoes, and strawberries!
Want to grow lettuce, tomatoes, and strawberries? No one’s stopping you. You can build several greenhouses and manage them from a special menu, where you’ll also control your other productions (production chains).
What to grow is up to you. The most important thing is not to forget to supply your greenhouses with enough water; otherwise, production will stop, and you’ll operate at a loss.
Interaction possibilities with products
You decide what to do with the resources and products you get from the greenhouses. If you want instant profit, you can simply sell them at a good price. However, this is far from the only way to interact with your products.
By default, your products will be stored—that is, packed on pallets and waiting for you to decide what to do with them. You can change these settings so that they are sold immediately and generate profit.
However, if you have your own production facilities, it’s much more profitable to deliver crops from the greenhouse there and create a more expensive product. For example, you can deliver strawberries to a bakery, where they’ll make a delicious strawberry cake, which you can then sell instead of just the strawberries themselves. How you handle your products is entirely up to you.
What do you think about this? Will you use the seasons system and grow crops in greenhouses, or do you prefer a calmer, standard game without seasonal restrictions and complications? Write your answers in the comments; we’re interested to hear your opinion!
