The developers of Euro Truck Simulator 2 have completed the open beta test for the new patch version 1.39 and released the patch officially. The update is quite interesting and includes many fixes, improvements, new content, and much more.
Low-loader trailers have been redesigned. They received improved constructions and have been split into two types: now they come in short and extended versions. There is the ability to fully customize them, change colors, add various light sources, and more. This applies not only to the base game but also to add-ons (High Power Cargo Pack, Heavy Cargo Pack, Special Transport, and Schwarzmüller DLC).
The French city of Calais has been revamped and improved. The city is now more realistic and detailed, especially the industrial port. Various objects have been added to the city to give it a new beautiful look and enhance the atmosphere.
New Launcher Design
First of all, the developers updated the game launcher. You can notice how extensively the launcher’s design has been overhauled overall. The main reason for this change was to prepare for upcoming updates that will introduce new features to the game, which will require an improved launcher.
The new launcher is more user-friendly, visually appealing, supports many functions, but most importantly – you can configure the game directly from there without launching the game itself. You can change settings and customize everything to your liking.
Low-loader Trailers
New low-loader trailers will become available in the game, which are perfect for transporting various types of cargo. They support cargo from the Special Transport, Forest Machinery, and Heavy Cargo DLCs. There are only two versions of these trailers: long and short, and they can be customized in various ways. You will be able to change colors, add different parts, and other types of tuning.
Calais Revamp
Calais is a French city available in ETS 2. With this patch, the city will be significantly revamped. In the game, this city is one of the main ones and has been included since the game’s release. It was very important to change the city’s appearance to make it more beautiful, realistic, and modern.
The main changes affected the port of Calais. The port was extensively redesigned. Various objects were added to make the area more lively, beautiful, and realistic. Different types of terminals, gates, and more were added. The port’s entrance and exit were also thoroughly reworked to better match the real-life port of Calais.
Improvements and Fixes
Finally, the patch also addresses the base game itself, its bugs, malfunctions, and shortcomings. The developers fixed some existing bugs in the game, improved certain issues, and importantly – updated the sound.
