DLC Heart of Russia: Road Networks in the Upcoming Expansion

Russia is a vast country where you can encounter different types of roads: ranging from ordinary highways to mountain dirt roads. In the Heart of Russia expansion, the ETS 2 developers will attempt to recreate some of these roads. 

At the initial stage of development, there were already some preliminary works related to Russian roads. However, over time they became outdated, and the developers began making various changes to beautifully recreate the necessary roads. Thanks to these changes, it was possible to create a truly up-to-date road network.

Special attention was paid to various objects: bridges, curbs, guardrails, and especially road signs. When recreating road signs, the developers encountered certain problems since Russia has road signs they had never seen before. 

It is no secret that bad roads are common in Russia. However, as a rule, in large cities and on state highways, which are often used for freight transport, the roads are in good condition. The majority of the road network consists of smaller roads, not highways, and the goal was set to accurately recreate all of this and try to correctly balance the proportions. In the new expansion, you will find not only roads with good asphalt but also dirt roads.
