Game Development Plans and Changelog

"Greetings, gentlemen!
Unfortunately, our relationship with our publisher Oovee continues to deteriorate. At the moment, they refuse to talk to me and are withholding the due payments.
This is unfortunate, but it doesn’t significantly affect the development itself. I have finished another round of improvements to all the subsystems in the game! And I will start working on one of the new features, most likely it will be tracks!
Tracked vehicles will crush trees, so many subsystems in the game will be changed accordingly. Meanwhile, my assistants are improving models, sounds, and creating the game’s soundtrack.
After that, it might be time to make Spintires-2 (we can confidently say that Spintires will no longer be an Early Access Game).
It will feature a greater draw distance, larger maps (procedurally generated), realistic soft tire physics, beautiful destruction of trucks, buildings, and bridges, snow and ice (!!!), rain and slush (!!!), wind, various graphical enhancements, and, of course, a more complex and interesting gameplay.
This is the plan for 2-3 years, so expect an awesome truck game. Meanwhile, here is the list of changes and a couple of pictures..."

Reece Bolton - Oovee: Spintires Will Grow

Message from Reece Bolton (Oovee employee) from the official forum:

"Hello everyone, February is postponed for good beginnings, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and no one is sick!

If you’ve started to worry – we are still here. Right now we have very little interesting information for you, we are finishing up agreements and signing contracts with some business partners, which will significantly expand Spintires and lead to its exponential growth.

A lengthy part of this process consists of drafting contracts and you should understand that both we and our business partners are bound by a non-disclosure agreement, which means we will only be able to release information publicly once all contract points have been discussed and agreed upon.

As you may have noticed, there was a small update released on Tuesday, February 2. This update contains fixes for the Havok engine (issues with the winch, collisions, trees, etc. have been resolved).

Spintires is currently on sale at 50% off on Steam as part of the Chinese New Year sale, so know that if you or someone you know wanted to buy Spintires but haven’t done so yet – now is the time.

We keep hauling cargo, and we love watching the mods that appear in the workshop – keep it up!"

Updated MAZ Trucks

Rumor has it that the next game update will also affect the models of the MAZ-535 and MAZ-537 trucks. Screenshots are available: before and after. As can be seen, the main changes will be made to the transmission of these trucks.

High-Quality Suspension Detailing: Steering Rack

There is information that the next update will add mechanisms such as the "Steering Rack" and "Steering Knuckles," and most likely, the suspension on the UAZ and ZIL models will be more detailed to see how it moves. Regarding the Racks, Pavel Zagrebelny himself (the game's lead developer) reportedly mentioned them, but most likely, the knuckles will be included as well.

Weekly News

A bit of news about what Pavel has done for the game recently (in the last week) and what will be done:
Done:
- The steering wheel now rotates in the cabin.
- The drive shafts in the wheels of MAZ trucks now spin.

What will be done soon:
- Multiplayer saves (!!!).
- Fully functional steering rack for all vehicles.
- Possibly new special effects with smoke and dirt on truck models.
- Track technology (for now, Pavel is considering where to start their development).

New Mud and Water Behavior

A bit of news from the developer:
Recently, Pavel (the lead developer of SpinTires) has done:
- A new technology for placing (spreading) mud and water on the ground/water (the first 4 pictures, before/after, look at the water and the spots where the mud falls).
- New shapes and dynamics of waves on the water. (5th picture, before/after).

These technologies will allow for a higher quality display of mud when driving tracked vehicles. =)

"We are not doing anything to develop the game. =)".
